You can see the gates need to be replaced. We saw the replacements at Doors Open a few weeks ago. The replacement will be done this Fall. |

ReplyDeleteWhen I was a schoolgirl we went on trips up and down the tow path around Richmond on the River Thames in England. The tow path was for when the barges were horse drawn. We had to cross those locks a lot, but we didn't think anything of it. At times they would even let us work the cranks that manually opened and closed the lock's gates. We always enjoyed that. Brings back some happy memories.
