The tow path was for when the barges were horse drawn. We had to cross those locks a lot, but we didn't think anything of it. At times they would even let us work the cranks that manually opened and closed the lock's gates. We always enjoyed that. Brings back some happy memories.<br /><br />Great pictures as usual.
