Monday March 8, 2010-We Have a House!

Thanks to Anonymous for the comment about Rideau Heights Campsite here in the city. We know it well and have stayed there often but that wouldn't solve our problem.

Anyway, today was a busy day. We met with the mortgage broker, got that taken care of, saw the house, made the offer, signed the paperwork and are I just received the phone call from the realtor that our offer was accepted! So, subject to various conditions, we are homeowners again.

Here are some interior photos that Gordon took today. Some of the wallpaper is pretty scary but that's an easy fix.

Bathroom

Dining Room

Kitchen - this is probably what sold me on the house

Living Room

Bedroom - this is where the scary wallpaper comes in

  14. Perfect (well, almost, but you can fix that wallpaper easypeasy!). Congratulations!!!

Are you getting it furnished? That's actually how we got the Park Model we're living in now -- but I assume not in a house?

Either way it looks like a great find. I am glad for you.

  16. Lovely house, and big kitchen, I know you will enjoy it.

My only comments are, that the dishwasher being on the other side of the kitchen from the sink is very awkward.
My friend's kitchen is that way, as the dishwasher was an after thought. Also she can't run the hot faucet to get hot water into the dishwasher right away.

Please keep a non-skid rug in the aisle, as that floor will be slippery when you are transferring dishes from the sink to the dishwasher.

Also the dishwasher water and soap are supposed to keep the garbage disposal clean, which it can't do.

    Happy Trails, Penny, TX

  17. Penny, garbage disposals aren't the norm up here so that won't be a problem. I'll certainly think about putting a non slip rug on the ceramic tile though!
