It was so cosy under my electric blanket this morning that I had to drag myself out of bed at about 8:30 a.m. However, the sun was shining brightly and it was 38F (3C). Since it was sunny, I didn't have to put on as many clothes but still a bit windy. It sure is nice to see the bright sun. I had a nice walk, did my stretches down by the water all the time under watch of a great egret that was hiding down by the shoreline out of the wind. On my way back to the RV, I met Storm, one of the campground cats who was looking for some attention.
After breakfast I looked out the window and saw Pyro sitting in the sun on top of the canoe next door. Gordon got a photo of him sitting there but as soon as I came out he thought he was going to get some attention so over he came to see me.
I spent most of the dat on the internet. Then I looked at the games that came with my computer which I'd never done before and found that it has Mahjongh so spent a lot of the afternoon playing that.
Around 4 p.m. Gordon decided he wanted to go out and see where the smoke was coming from that's been around most of the day. We drove and drove and wound up at Seadrift. It looks like it must have been a prescribed burn at the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge which is across San Antonio Bay from Seadrift.
Just as we were leaving the RV park, Storm came running over to see us.
The smoke
From there we drove to a bridge which is near Port O'Connor. There were some roseate spoonbills there but they were pretty far away for my camera so I took some photos of the bridge and the moon.
Back to the RV in time to warm up stew for dinner. Our high today was 63F (17C) so the temperature is going back up again. Not too soon for me!
Glad it was not someone's home. When Sherri and I first moved to the country we would be driving home and we would see smoke and we always prayed that it was not our home burning. Thank the Lord that it was not.
